Women’s Ministry

CWF (Christian Women’s Fellowship), also called Disciples Women, is open to women of all ages in our church–regardless of membership. CWF meets every other month usually in the morning – contact the church for dates and times as they may change.

CWF/Disciples Women participate in several mission and outreach projects:

  • Anyone in the church can knit or crochet Prayer Shawls for the sick – we have donated yarn to share if you want to participate by creating and donating prayer shawls (anyone can share a shawl with someone in need).
  • Shoeboxes for “Operation Christmas Child” – After the Pandemic, CWF decided to collect funds to purchase the shoeboxes online as the postage costs were becoming unmanageable. The annual fundraiser Soup luncheon raises funds for the Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry – 121 shoeboxes were donated in 2023.
  • The CWF group hosts an annual ice cream social event (usually in August) at The Village Assisted Living in Cameron – it’s a fun time of fellowship with the residents.
  • CWF travels to Jamesport to view quilts before the annual show; the group enjoys a meal together at The Country Cupboard.
  • At Christmas, the CWF group makes up goody bags for shut-ins at home and in nursing facilities – recipients receive a handmade item to decorate their home/room.
  • In 2024, CWF is planning a fundraiser craft sale for early fall (before the holidays).
  • Various outings are planned throughout the year and publicized in the weekly bulletin.
